They're used to a TV wardrobe of fabulous ball gowns for Downton's various engagements.
So there was a certain standard to be met on Thursday night, as leading ladies Laura Carmichael, 28, and Elizabeth McGovern, 53, turned out for The Downton Abbey Ball.
Held at the Savoy Hotel in London, the charity event saw the ladies of the Abbey slip into slinky black dresses on the night to uphold the glamour of the period drama.

It was set to be a suitably fabulous event as the famous hotel laying on a lavish fine dining and even a Downton Cabaret, performed by the cast.
The actresses were certainly razzle-dazzling on the night, with Laura - who plays Lady Edith Crawley in the ITV show - putting on an effortlessly elegant display in a two tiered dress.
The one-shoulder number cut into sultry side splits and skimmed neatly over her shape to reveal caged heels on her feet.

Meanwhile, her! on-screen mother Elizabeth - more commonly known as Lady Cora Crawley - wore a sensational sequin number.
The 53-year-old was confident in the cowl-neck gown, that swept the floor as she made quite the entrance on Thursday night.
She kept her hair in a familiar 1920s style - the era in which fans last left Downton - with it curled about her ears in a bob, with a statement clip on one side.

Fans of the show were able to purchase tickets for £500 for the fundraising event, which is in aid of homeless charity Centrepoint.
They were also able to see a different side to their favourite stars, with characters including Robert Crawley (Hugh Bonneville), Charles Carson (Jim Carter) and Thomas Barrow (Rob James-Collier) in their more modern finery for the night.
Hugh couldn't resist a few pictures with work wife Elizabeth, who plays the lady to his man of the house in the popular drama.
