Channel 4 is yet to officially confirm that it has dropped NFL coverage from its schedule.
The broadcaster regained the rights to the sport in 2013 from the BBC.
NFL's 96th season is scheduled to begin on September 10, with the annual kickoff game featuring the defending Super Bowl champions New England Patriots hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers.
