Former WWE writer Kevin Eck said the recent #GiveDivasAChance movement on Twitter will not actually change the Divas division as they are not respected backstage.
"During my time on the WWE creative team, we actually were told that there really are no babyfaces or heels in the Divas division. It was strongly implied that the Divas are all just a bunch of catty chicks, most of whom are mentally unstable," Eck claimed in an article on Sportsblog.com.
The division is currently in the middle of a crisis of sorts, thanks to the retirement of AJ Lee and the injury of British diva Paige.
Sexist chants have also been heard at events.
Tonight (April 26) the latest WWE pay-per-view event Extreme Rules will see Nikki Bella square off against Naomi for the Divas championship.
Watch Extreme Rules on Sky Sports Box Office and WWE Network on Sunday, April 26 (Monday morning) at 1am in the UK and 8pm ET/5pm PT in the US.
