A skyscraper resembling the bodies of dancers in Beyoncé's 'Ghost' video is being built

Architects get inspiration from all sorts of places, but we didn't expect a music video to be one of them.

Australian firm Elenberg Fraser has been given planning permission to construct a 226-metre high skyscraper in Melbourne that resembles the curvaceous form of the fabric-wrapped bodies in Beyoncé's 'Ghost' music video.

The curvy 68-storey structure will eventually accommodate 660 apartments and a 160-room hotel.

"For those more on the art than science side, we will reveal that the form does pay homage to something more aesthetic - we're going to trust you've seen the music video for Beyoncé's 'Ghost'," the company said.

"This project is the culmination of our significant research. The complex form - a vertical cantilever - is actually the most effective way to redistribute the building's mass, giving the best results in terms of structural dispersion, frequency oscillation and wind requirements."
